El Palmar and the surrounding area.

El Palmar is a small coastal village, in the heart of Andalusia where flamenco, bull fighting and tuna fishing are still very much part of everyday life.  Best known for its stunning beach, surfing and beautiful surrounding countryside, El Palmar is perfectly situated to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday and/or a sightseeing tour of such places as Cape Trafalgar, Vejer de la Frontera, Conil de la Frontera, Cadiz, Jerez and much more.


The village though rural, is a hive of activity in the summer months and a favourite place for spanish from Barcelona, Madrid and the north to holiday. Full of families and young people alike. In the winter months Atlantic swells hit the Costa de la Luz, El Palmar is the main surf break in the area, with blue skys and warm days this makes it a popular destination for local and international surfers alike.

Local Amenities 

El Palmar has 3 small supermarkets, a chemist,  2 butchers, a tobacconist, and surf shop. There are numerous bars and restaurants, some with live music and in the height of summer a few 'chiringuitos', thatched beach bars on the sand.  7 kms up the road is the coastal town of Conil, with many more larger supermarkets.

In the summer months there is a regular bus service, in the winter not so regular. We can offer an airport pick-up and drop off service,please contact us for prices.  We do recommend that you hire/arrive by car to make the most of your stay and the surrounding area.
